In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Nintendo's membership pricing table lists Individual $3.99/month, $7.99/3 months, or $19.99/year; Expansion Pack Individual $49.99/year; Family $34.99/year; and Expansion Pack Family $79.99/year. Cancel by turning off automatic renewal at least 48 hours before the membership ends on the console eShop or at accounts.nintendo.com (Nintendo Support: cancel).

Turning off auto-renew keeps online play and other benefits until the paid term ends. Deleting games or factory-resetting a Switch does not cancel the membership.

NSO renews on the Nintendo Account that bought it - not on every console signed in. Cancel on that account.

How to cancel Nintendo Switch Online

On your Nintendo Switch / Switch 2

  1. Open the Nintendo eShop while signed in with the account that purchased the membership.
  2. Open Account Information.
  3. Choose Cancel Your Subscription by Turning Off Automatic Renewal and confirm.
  4. Do this at least 48 hours before the membership expires.

On the web

  1. Sign in at accounts.nintendo.com.
  2. Open Nintendo Switch Online.
  3. Choose Cancel Your Pass by Turning Off Auto-Renewal and confirm.

How to confirm it worked

You're done when:

  • Nintendo Account / eShop shows automatic renewal off and an end date.
  • No new Nintendo Switch Online charge posts after that date.

Common problems

  • Only deleted a game or the user profile. Membership stays on the Nintendo Account.
  • Cancelled under 48 hours before expiry. Nintendo asks for at least 48 hours.
  • Family member cancelled instead of the purchaser. Only the buying account controls Family auto-renew.
  • Expected a mid-cycle refund. Turning off auto-renew usually keeps access until the paid term ends.

What we checked

Verified on official Nintendo pages (October 18, 2026): US dollar table on Support a_id/41194; 48-hour auto-renew cancel steps on Support a_id/41196.

Not verified - left out: retailer gift-card promo prices that are not on Nintendo's table.

Standard vs Expansion Pack

Expansion Pack adds more Nintendo Classics libraries, select DLC (for example Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass) and Switch 2 extras such as GameCube Classics where offered.

Family plans

One purchase covers up to eight Nintendo Accounts - cheaper per person if you fill the group.
