About CostToCancel
CostToCancel is an independent website that helps people understand what their subscriptions really cost and how to cancel them cleanly. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by any of the companies we write about.
What we do
- We check current US prices against official pricing and help pages, and we show the date each guide was last verified.
- We walk through cancellation on the web, iPhone/iPad and Android, because the right place to cancel depends on who bills you.
- We explain refund rules, early termination fees and what you lose when you cancel (credits, downloads, storage).
How we make money
The site is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense). Advertisers have no influence on what we write, and we never accept payment to recommend or rank a service.
Editorial and update process
- Official sources first. Every price and every price-increase claim is checked against the company's own pricing page, plans page or help center. Press coverage is used only to find changes, never as the sole source for a number.
- If we can't verify it, we don't print it. When an official page doesn't show a figure, the guide says "check official pricing" and links to that page instead of quoting a number from memory or another website.
- Cancel steps are checked against official help pages for each billing route (website, Apple App Store, Google Play and partners), because the right place to cancel depends on who bills you.
- Re-checks. High-traffic guides are re-checked at least monthly and every guide at least once a quarter, plus immediately when a company announces a price change.
- Dates you can see. Each guide shows a "Last updated" date at the top and a "Verified" month next to its list of sources, so you can tell how fresh the information is.
- Independent review. Guides are written and reviewed by the CostToCancel editorial team. No company we cover sees or approves a guide before publication.
Corrections
Subscription prices change often. If you notice something outdated or wrong, email us at [email protected] or use the contact page. We check the official source and update the page, usually within a few days, and the "Last updated" date changes when we do.
