Audible costs $8.99/month for Standard (1 credit a month) and $14.95/month for Premium Plus (1 credit plus the Plus Catalog). Annual Premium Plus plans are $149.50 (12 credits) or $229.50 (24 credits).
Spend your credits first - unused credits disappear when you cancel. Then go to audible.com > Account Details > Cancel membership. You can't cancel in the iPhone app.
Audiobooks you've bought with credits or cash are yours to keep after cancelling. What you lose is unused credits, member discounts and access to the Plus Catalog.

How to cancel Audible
On the Audible website
- Use any credits you have left (open Library to check the balance).
- Go to audible.com in a browser and sign in.
- Hover over your name and choose Account Details.
- Click Cancel membership at the bottom of the page.
- Pick a reason, decline (or accept) the retention offer, and click Finish cancelling.
If you subscribed through Apple or Google
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Audible.
- Tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial), then confirm.
- On Android with Google Play billing, cancel in Play Store > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
What you lose when you cancel
- Unused credits are forfeited immediately - spend or ask about a pause first.
- Plus Catalog titles disappear from your library.
- Purchased books stay in your library and remain downloadable.
Pause or downgrade instead
Audible often offers a pause (commonly up to 3 months) or a cheaper plan on the cancel screen. Pausing keeps your credits and stops billing. Switching from Premium Plus to Standard saves about $6 a month if you only want one book a month and don't use the Plus Catalog.
Refunds
Audible doesn't refund membership fees for the current month, but you can return audiobooks you didn't enjoy for a credit, usually within 365 days of purchase, through Library > ... > Return this title or customer service. Repeated returns can be limited.
