In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Akamai/Linode shared CPU plans list Nanode 1 GB at $5/month, 2 GB at $12, and 4 GB at $24, billed hourly with a monthly cap (Akamai Cloud pricing). Stop billing by deleting Linodes, volumes, and node balancers, then close the account (Linode Docs: cancel account — Confirm current Akamai path).
Powered-off instances can still bill. Uninstalling the CLI does not cancel.
Account owner required. Snapshot/export disks before delete.

How to cancel Linode / Akamai Cloud
Stop resource billing
- Sign in at cloud.linode.com.
- Delete Linodes, Block Storage, NodeBalancers, and Object Storage buckets you no longer need.
- Remove unused backups.
- Close / cancel the account when the balance is clear.
How to confirm it worked
You're done when:
- No billable resources remain.
- Account closed (if chosen) and no new Linode invoice posts.

- Only powered off a Linode. It can still bill.
- Left Block Storage. Volumes bill while provisioned.
- Non-owner tried to close. Need account permissions.
